A very warm welcome to you. Others may still be travelling or about to set off, and we wish you a safe journey. For some of you this will be your first visit to CERN, and we are especially pleased to welcome you to the laboratory. The final agenda is attached and is also available on the workshop Indico page: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1687915/timetable/ We begin tomorrow, Tuesday 1 September, at 10:00 with registration and coffee at the Main Auditorium (500/1-001), as indicated in the agenda. This is followed at 10:30 by the welcome and workshop overview, a welcome address from the CERN Director of Accelerators and Technology, and the introductory session setting out AICE as a staged facility for fundamental physics at CERN, the state of the art in atom interferometry and cold-atom technology, and the CERN evaluation pathway towards the Technical Proposal. After lunch, Day 1 continues with the CERN context and strategy, the physics programme, the AICE detector and its staging, and the PX46 site and infrastructure sessions. Please also note the workshop cocktail dinatoire in the R1 extension from 19:00 to 21:00, to which all participants are warmly invited. For those visiting CERN for the first time, practical information on getting to CERN, access cards for external participants and network connection can be found in the left-hand menu of the Indico page. If you have any questions before or during the workshop, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at sergio.calatroni@cern.ch or oliver.buchmuller@cern.ch. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning and to a productive and enjoyable workshop. With best wishes, Oliver Buchmueller, John Ellis and Sergio Calatroni on behalf of the AICE Community Workshop organisers ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Prof. Oliver Buchmueller Professor of Physics Deputy Head of Department (Research) ──────────────────────── Imperial College London Blackett Laboratory, Prince Consort Road London SW7 2BW, UK Tel +44 (0)20 7594 7792 · Mob +44 (0)7788 526563 ──────────────────────── CERN, CH-1211 Geneva 23, Switzerland Office 510-1-017 · Tel +41 22 767 7520 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
